The new building is intended for student residences and consists of a functional mix of housing and rooms for a total of 460 beds, placed between the first and fifteenth floor of the building. The Project includes also a gym on the 15th floor overlooking the Milan skyline.
The detailed project was made by us in BIM with level of detail LOD 350. The most important challenge in modeling was to create ad hoc parametric families for the building casing; apparently simple to the eye, in reality the building envelope is made up of multiple transparent elements such as inclined continuous facades, windows at different heights and glasses of 4 different colors. Moreover, the opaque parts that make up a white monolith, are moved by various splains of different inclinations.
