The project falls within the framework of initiatives concerning the upgrading of some peripheral areas of Milan: the area on which the residence of the Politecnico di Milano stands was in the past occupied by an abandoned primary school.
The residence consists mainly of a complex of two buildings, a low building and a tower, which host about 230 accommodations for students, doctoral students, researchers and visiting professors, interconnected by a single ground floor with reception and common services.
The entire complex is part of a large green area and has a private garden accessible to students as well as a new public garden managed in collaboration with the Town Hall 8.
